Bloody Weekend

Living in a multi-cultural society slash Country really opens your eyes to the many peoples of the world: Black,Brown,White and Yellow
I am practically alert to the ways and attitude of the different Group and Nationalities of peoples that I see around me on a regular basis: Blacks, Chinese, Whites and Indians

And although this post is just a Quick generalization and does not speak for the whole race of people I am bout to speak of, from what I have observed, it seems the black race is slightly leaning more towards the road to SELF DESTRUCTION than the other folks(THIS IS MAINLY A FOCUS ON THE YOUTHS)

Now don't get me wrong I know ever race fights amongst themselves time to time, but why is it in curtain black communities, it seem like a never ending battle? This is what an article wrote about this past week end in and around Toronto(my city)

"A brutal spasm of violence convulsed the city over 24 hours and left FOUR(4) dead and SEVEN(7) injured in SIX(6) separate incidents -- none more shocking than the death of 11-year-old Ephraim Brown caught in gang crossfire.

Have you ever seen China Town? They got a small town full of Chinese owned Businesses, Chinese owned Banks, Chinese market place, Chinese products(you name it, they got it Chinese made and owned) These people are so family, business and educationally oriented

And they may fight against themselves but they don't make it an issue to kill each other and get broadcast on the news, gaining a negative image. whether as a couple or as strangers, I've noticed them to be so loving. If a Chinese woman gets on the bus, Its more than likely she will sit next to a Chinese person if the seat is available

The Indians are similar to the Chinese: Family, Business and Education comes first.
A lot of them start from an apartment and work as a family towards owning a house and renting out the basement( I know cos without even thinking I know 2 people that rent out rooms from Indian people) but over the years the younger family members branches off on their own, not before helping the family secure financial stability and stability of their own

But In most black families (not all) as little "Keisha" starts dating and someone tells her she has a curfew all hell breaks loose because she feels like a woman and can do as she pleases. Many too young too often wines up Pregnant, moves out the families home and becomes no real value to their families

Have you ever been on the bus and saw a young Chinese or Indian mother with a child and no father present? I can't remember a Chinese or a Indian, but I can dam sure remember seeing a few young white and black single mothers(without the father present)

Can you imagine a mother pushing a stroller through a snowed-filled winter street and all the attention she gets loading the stroller on a fully loaded bus?
No need to ask if that child's life was planned for or if she/he(the child) has a college savings....well this is where the problem lies?

my apologies to all the single mothers struggling or not, I am well aware not every mother on the bus is struggling or didn't plan for their children's lives. I don't want to be prejudice, but these are my observations

And like myself the "Leroy's". Am bound to got in trouble Because more than likely I am in some way, Sharpe or form disobeying the law ie experimenting with minor drugs, like its nothing(weed), dealing and trafficking drugs with every thing that comes with it, womanizing, not focusing on the future and getting lead astray, wasting the most previous time of our life's: our youth

I admit that I left my parents house to live with my two cousins because I was stubborn and wanted to be free from parental control and within a years time I got in some trouble and moved right back to Square One, and boy Oh boy was that experience costly: time and money wise

And believe me, if it wasn't for my parent's non nonsensical attitude, I would still be out there with the rest of them. I can speak for most young youths and say we sometime believe there is a more lucrative life style selling and dealing on the street. Most of us go through that phase but some of us get stuff in that phase and some just don't make it out at all

My frustration with the issue of Gun Violence is, ever time something like this happens, the Mayor, the Premier and the rest of the city calls for tougher sentences
and even banning Hand Guns. This is usually the politicians reaction after the publics out cry

But I truly believe the root of the problem lies within the ATTITUDE & MENTALITY of the youths, we as the youths lack awareness on a wide ranch of things from: self control, integrity, career choices, educational facts, Brotherhood, a greater meaning for life etc.

I think its up to the indivduals and the peoples involved with these issues, not so must the leaders because as much as I could say Its hard here in Canada. I know without a doubt they are opportunities here for the taking, as long as you prepare yourself from early on in life, why do we learn when its too late?


I know this post shed some light on the negative issues occurring in some communities
But Please note I am well aware they are positive influences in these communities also

My Fascination

I like em tall, with or without curves.
So many of them are around me where am from
One take rise in the summer time almost everyday.

Whether in the heart of the city or the inner city slums(ghettos) they still fascinate me.
To me they symbolize strength, achievement,power and how far we have come
They command my attention,especially when numerous amounts are together in one location.
The view one gets sometimes is awing and nothing but breathtaking

What am I talking about?
Sky scrapers,high rises,the City's sky line.
(apartment,condos & offices you name it)

This post was inspired by the latest addition to the Mississauga City sky line
(Sauga City for short,my second home)
I pass by these towers almost everyday (see picture below), only the two small ones are built already. The Bigger ones are just taking raise! Feast your eyes on this...BAM!!

I believe prices start from $169,900 for 670 sq. ft. to $500,000s for a penthouse with 1,490 sq. ft...yea!! Imagine partying in the penthouse about 50 floors up.
Fascinating no?
Why is this fascinating to me?
Well,I'd have to say the New York City Sky line started it all and it must have been from in those Hollywood Movies.
Those panoramic aerial view were what captivated me and kept a hold since.
Plus my first "home" in Canada was a high rise,we stayed 16 flights up,the view wasn't fascinating at all,in fact we didn't even have a balcony,just a window. But across the city,a member of the family or a friend of the family would and I would enjoy the view there whenever I was a guess.

I once took a 4 nights,3 days,bus tour to New York City.
(me and 2 friends... a whole Nada story)

At the time I was going to college for Recording Music Production.
I told my folks It was a trip towards furthering my education.
lol Borat wait.....NOT!!!
I remember we even had free tickets for a view of the city atop the Empire State Building,but we scalped em (the tickets) on the street to some Chinese tourists. you know?? The ones with the cameras!! aw New York,New York. Beautiful city

Being Downtown on Broadway in Time Square made me feel at home to my fascination, the lights the traffic, the people, the buildings just the whole atmostphere
it made me realise,Downtown Toronto (where am from) was nothing compare to this. Looking around,I was in aw everywhere I turned.
Talk about concrete Jungle. At lease Toronto had some trees lol
Manhattan is kinda like Toronto though(kind of) and Central Park is Huge and a good place to get a view of the city. I remember visiting the site John Lennon got shot,
The Brooklyn Bridge,Canal Street(little Italy),the Rockefeller centre and the Twin towers,Post 911.

What also fascinates me is the fact, these gigantic Towers are built in what seems like "No Time". Here in Canada they say its only two seasons: Winter and Construction Season. Have you guys ever seen the time is takes to bulid a house or a building back home? Man, you gotta work with what you got for now, Must be the motto
in Jamaica, because sometimes the house get built half way and sometimes never even becomes finished

Sure I have other fascinations,but this is just one of them and so is music,that's why I posted a song I did a year ago above, check it out.
