The New Year's Eve Party ....(The N/Y/E/P )

The New Year's Eve Party we almost got to too late and almost missing the chance to celebrate the Mid-Night count down with the rest of the party goers. Yeh, that N/Y/E/P...5-4-3-2-1, good Bye 07, Hello 08...where were u at? lol

Disclaimer: Warning, Due to G's eventfully holidays, this post may be long for curtain people and my mind was a toxic waste whilst writing this, so......pardon any errors, I'll get em later

Yawl know most people don't plan for parties until the last minute and even though it was New Year's Eve, we literally made up our minds in the last half an hour on where we wanted to go. We had options but those same option were almost the downfall to our night. We were a little indecisive

Coolie-Man(a Friend) was determine to cruise around and at the last minute we ended up going out of bound and getting, not lost but, Misplaced. Like most G's(Guys) he wouldn't admit it, not knowing I'd figured for myself long before. Instead he tried to play it off in a Coolie-Man style attempt by removing his shades from his head and putting it on
(in the night)
At the same moment he choose to reassure me of what a "Awesome" night we were gonna have, then he leaned forward, squinting to make out the street names because it was obviously unfamiliar territory. That's when I asked: Yo, B! You know where you going? lol

Moments later we were back on course, when we noticed a police cruiser moving at a slow pace ahead of us with flashing lights(a brotha's worst dislike or fear) Time was of the essence so we hesitantly passed him by slowly and even though we had nothing to be guilty of(welllll...that's not really yawl business) We held our heads straight, and never looking back

Coolie-Man asked: Is he there?
G: I don't know, I can't see. lol.

I refused to look back in fear of the officer stopping us on any suspicions and spending New Year Eve's time answering an officer. After a very long half a mile away, we pulled up at a red light, still having not checked the rear view, Coolie-Man was in Deep Thoughts. See a young black man's dislike/fear of police? No be small o. lol

Coolie-Man must have been thinking about Christmas trees with all green lights because he was at a complete stop for 20 seconds but his anxiety got the best of him and pressed the gas. driving through the red light. There were no traffic. Thankfully. Am guessing most party goers were already at their place of choice for the night since there was only 30 minutes to the BIG count-down. That police cruiser we were worried/paranoid about must have ditched somewhere to swallow up some donuts because surely he would have seen what just took place.

Yes coolie-Man stopped to clear his head and eventually we got to the party just in time. Believe it or not we had done NO Pre-drinking so after the necessary steps for entering the club/party. We went straight to the bar to buy the first rounds to celebrate the new year. Now was the perfect time to laugh at Coolie-Man for the whole crazy endeavor. The crowd began dancing the early morning away.

The DJ/Selector was great, at one point he had to beg of the younger more vibrant guys, out of the obviously more older crowd to please not smoke. Some Guys thought the music, the feeling, and time of year gave them a legit reason to smoke even though am sure they knew smoking was almost prohibited in Canada, much less in the club. I gotta say, its so funny how whenever those Oldies start playing, they bring back the same great old feeling

There was a camera man recording the event. He must have known what stars look like whenever he seen some because the "Video Light" almost burnt us by the end of the night. lol

The bar scenario was one to remember. I remember once just wanting a case of Heineken but the Ballers shouts from over my shoulders for $200 dollar bottles of whatever, overpowered my small order of just a case of Heineken. I soaked in the moment and smiled to myself taking note of how big money gets you great/fast service. At last call, the bartenders still sliped drinks under the regulators noses, who routinely made sure no more drinks were being served after last call

Since the fellows paid $40 dollars to get into the party, they honored the DJ's and club Manager's wish to not smoke on the dance floor. The fellows instead took it into the hallway corridor leading to the guys/gals restroom. Blunts and Cigar Smoke filled the air as people came through to pass to the restrooms. The instant whiff of marijuana in the air left amusing looks on each face to enter the room of euphoric recreational enjoyment

The Irony was that, one the event planner was supplying the smokes. When the Club management came though the Corridor, that Planner acted as if it was all to his surprise why people were smoking. Hustlers baby

Should in case my life becomes a movie.lol for that sake I can't leave what am about to mention out. It was too funny, I even got pictures.

Even the restroom were fun filled especially when a lady chose to come use the guys room because the Lady's room were overcrowded. We more than welcome her brave soul in and after she did her thing, am sure she must have known a pack of Jamaicans had to make most of the moment by posing with her and snapping pictures in spirit of the new year's joy we all were having. Its unfortunate my camera batteries were dying but I managed to capture the scene. Notices she leaves and Coolie-Man calls her back in for one more shot

I met a girl from the older crowd but due to her age amongst other things, she's one of those weekend affair types rather than anything else. Welcome to 08.
